Flexographic Press Operator

Contract with potential to convert to full-time

Shift: 2nd Shift -Monday-Thursday at 2:30pm to 1am and off Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays! 

Training:  (1st Shift) for the first 6 weeks: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm (1 hour lunch) sometimes come in at 6am and leave early are flexible.

Shift Differential: Once training period is over an additional 10% shift differential will be added to pay

Job Summary:

The Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. They work with various materials like paper, plastic, and film, ensuring that the printed products meet customer specifications and quality standards. Their duties include preparing the press, monitoring print quality, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up the press, Mounting printing plates, adjusting ink flow and pressure, and loading materials like paper or film.
• Operating the press, starting and controlling the machine, monitoring print quality, and adjusting settings as needed.
• Maintaining quality, inspecting printed materials for defects, color accuracy, and registration, making adjustments to correct issues.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving printing problems, such as misaligned prints, ink issues, or mechanical malfunctions.
• Performing maintenance, cleaning and lubricating press components, performing routine checks, and reporting any needed repairs.
• Ink Management, mixing, blending, and managing inks according to job specifications and material requirements.
• Following instructions, reading and interpreting job orders, following safety procedures, and adhering to company policies.
• Collaborating with team, communicating with supervisors, other operators, and pre-press personnel to ensure smooth production.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude, ability to understand and work with machinery and tools.
• Attention to detail, keen eye for spotting errors and maintaining quality solving skills, and ability to diagnose and resolve printing issues.
• Physical stamina, strong communication skills, ability to communicate with team members effectively.
• Color vision and perception, ability to differentiate colors accurately.
• Knowledge of flexographic and flexography principles, understanding of printing processes, inks, is preferred.
• Experience with specific presses, familiarity with the type of press' used in the printing and flexographic printing industry, desired.
• Basic computer skills, ability to record data, documentation, and use production software, are required.
• 1 year of experience in Machining, as an operator, press operator, pre press operator, mechanical aptitude, required.
