In order to become a Ryder employee you must:/strong/strong ul liMust be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire/li liPass a Ryder Drug Test/li liPass a DOT physical/li liPass a Ryder road test/li liPass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years/li /ul/li /ul pstrongImportant Note: /strong Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts./p p /p h2Responsibilities/h2 ul li Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:/li ul liPerforms standard vehicle maintenance/li liPerforms preventive maintenance/li liDiagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable/li liCompletes complex and detailed mechanical inspections repairs with minimal supervision/li liReplaces defective components as instructed/li liWorks unsupervised on most tasks/li /ul liPerforms facility maintenance duties/li liInteracts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task./li liUtilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available./li liWorks in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)./li liActs as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels./li liDemonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents./li liOther support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support/li liSBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)/li liComplete 2 of the OEM On-Line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mi.
