Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring an active Ohio or Compact license and Epic EMR experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is on a combined Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00pm-7:30am
- Telemetry monitoring and Med/Surg patient population
- Epic EMR is used on the unit and prior experience is required
- Traveler is required to work at least every other holiday
- Candidates must complete BCI/FBI fingerprinting and obtain an onsite badge prior to start date
- Onsite ECG and medication safety assessments occur during orientation
- Holiday coverage is required for assigned rotations
- Permanent or per diem staff must have a one-year gap from previous employment before returning
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- PAPRs are not an alternative for caregivers with facial hair except with approved medical or religious exemptions
- Modules must be completed prior to start and annually if contracted for a year or more
- First time travelers are eligible for this position
Requirements
- Active permanent Ohio RN license or Compact license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required and must be active
- NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained prior to start
- Epic charting experience required
- One recent supervisory reference in the specialty is required for consideration
- Candidate must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests during orientation with two attempts allowed
- No license hits or open background check cases will be accepted
