Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Responsibilities

· Observe, assess and evaluate patients, perform suture removal and wound care.

· Room patients, gather patient history and vitals.

· Answer clinical telephone calls and medication refill requests, prioritizing and routing to physician accordingly.

· Accurately convey information and instructions to patients and their families regarding tests, treatments, preoperative care, medications and other patient teaching.

· Document appropriate information in EHR. Coordinate information with physicians and clinical staff as needed.

· Perform routine telephone calls to check the status of all post-operative patients in a timely manner.

· Assist with scheduling patient appointments.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare facilities, other physicians and their office staff.

· Provide safe and appropriate administration of medication whether directly by instruction or by telephone to pharmacies, as instructed by physicians.

· Organize and requisition supplies as needed to maintain treatment rooms for exam.

· Multi-tasking is a must.

Requirements

· Licensed Vocational Nurse with 2+ yrs. experience

· Neuro and clinic experience a plus
