About the Role

Lions & Bears Staffing Partners is seeking a Mid-Level Nurse Practitioner to join a secure, facility-based medical program in California City, CA. You’ll deliver high-impact care to an underserved population, working closely with a multidisciplinary team under the direction of a Health Services Administrator and facility physician. This is an excellent opportunity for a mission-driven provider who values structure, autonomy, and the ability to focus on direct patient care—without the chaos of hospital or clinic volume.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care including exams, diagnosis, medication administration, and treatment planning

• Order and evaluate diagnostics and lab work

• Collaborate with physicians and internal medical staff

• Ensure appropriate documentation and compliance with correctional care standards

• Participate in clinical rounds, chart reviews, and team meetings

• Manage chronic and acute conditions with a preventative approach

• Support emergency care and medical response protocols

• Participate in audits, safety reviews, and accreditation processes (NCCHC, ACA, JCAHO)

Qualifications

• Current licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with family practice training in California

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Minimum 1 year of professional NP experience

• Must be 18 years or older

• Strong interpersonal, documentation, and decision-making skills

• Comfortable working in a secure or institutional healthcare setting
