Maintenance Tech

Join Rempac as a Maintenance Technician and help keep our production equipment and facility systems safe, reliable, and running at peak performance. You’ll leverage your mechanical and electrical expertise to troubleshoot, prevent issues before they happen, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery and facility systems to minimize downtime; perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Execute preventive maintenance to extend equipment life, including lubrication, inspection, calibration, and component replacement; document all work in the CMMS.
• Install, commission, upgrade, and modify equipment (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) to improve safety, reliability, and performance.
• Assemble, install, or repair electrical/electronic components, mechanical machinery, and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and determine corrective actions; replace/repair parts and make adjustments to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
• Perform basic fabrication/machining tasks as needed (e.g., drilling, tapping, cutting; simple lathe/mill operations).
• Identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes that enhance uptime, quality, and safety.
• Train and mentor other technicians; share best practices and standard work.
• Champion safety by complying with all company and statutory rules (e.g., LOTO, PPE, hot work permits); proactively address hazards and help keep all employees safe.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts used, and asset history; support spare parts management and reliability initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills; expert at Root Cause Analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone) and failure elimination.
• Proficient with Preventive Maintenance concepts and implementation; experience using a CMMS preferred.
• Solid hands-on background across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, and OEM manuals.
• Comfortable with hand/power tools and precision measuring instruments; basic machining/fabrication ability.
• Effective communicator with the ability to train and coach others; strong teamwork and customer-service mindset.
• Computer literate (e.g., CMMS, email, basic Office tools).
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate, apprenticeship, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics preferred.
• Plus (nice to have): Experience with PLCs/VFDs/sensors, instrumentation, welding, HVAC experience

Work Schedule & Location

• Location: Lumberton, NC
• Schedule: Overtime and on-call support as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights as required.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, heat/cold, dust) with appropriate PPE.
