Were currently hiring aQuality Control Specialist Gravel to support our heavy civil construction operations. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to conduct field and laboratory testing of construction materials and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. What Youll Do
As aQuality Control Specialist Gravel, you will:
- Conduct field and laboratory testing on aggregate, soils, asphalt, concrete, and compaction/density materials.
- Ensure all materials meet project specifications and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Proactively identify material inconsistencies and assist with implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and organized test documentation and daily records.
- Communicate test results and concerns to project managers, superintendents, and foremen.
- Support general shop and yard duties, including cleanliness, equipment organization, parts pickup, and occasional pilot car driving.
- Travel to job sites across Montana as needed to support ongoing projects.
What Were Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in construction materials testing or related field preferred.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel for remote project support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a lab or with construction testing equipment (nuclear density gauge, sieves, slump cone, etc.).
- Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO testing procedures and DOT standards.
- Prior experience in gravel or aggregate quality control is a strong plus.
