We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to join our fast-paced cardiology practice. The ideal candidate will be a vital member of our healthcare team, providing a high level of patient care through a combination of clinical and administrative tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including preparing and cleaning exam rooms.

  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and weight.

  • Conduct and assist with cardiac-specific procedures, including:

    • Electrocardiograms (EKGs/ECGs)

    • Application of Holter and event monitors

    • Assisting with stress tests and other in-office procedures

  • Provide patient education on cardiac conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Maintain a sterile and organized clinical environment.

Administrative Duties:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the daily patient flow to ensure efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  • Handle prescription refill requests and obtain pre-authorizations for medications and procedures.

  • Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.

  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT) is highly preferred and may be required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification is required.

  • Previous experience in a medical office, with cardiology experience a plus.

  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Athena or other medical office software.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to cardiology.
