Controls Design Assistant Manager

Responsibilities:

• Support the Controls Engineering Manager in leading and mentoring a team of and Controls Designers and PLC Controls Engineers in Managers absence.
• Assist in managing project timelines, resource allocation, and workload distribution across the team.
• Oversee and coordinate control system design, programming, and integration activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate release of control system prints and documentation to the shop floor.
• Monitor project progress, track job hours, and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Maintain adherence to customer specifications, industry standards, and internal best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Controls department.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support as needed.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of team members.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of automation controls systems, including Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with industry safety standards and electrical codes.
• Ability and willingness to travel minimally for project support or customer meetings.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.
