Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)

Location: Alpena, MI

Start Date: 10/13/2025

Duration: 12 weeks

Shift: Days, 6:30a–3:00p or 6:30a–5:00p (40-hour guarantee)

Weekend Requirements: 1 weekend per month

On-Call Requirements: 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend per month

Position Summary:

The OR RN is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during surgical procedures while maintaining patient safety. The RN develops individualized care plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care, provides leadership to the OR team, and communicates effectively with patients, families, surgical staff, supervisors, and ancillary departments. Participation in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education is required.

Responsibilities:

  Assess & Plan Care (40%): Develops and implements patient-specific care plans during procedures, adjusting as needed to maintain patient safety.

  Room Supervision (30%): Oversees OR activity, anticipates schedule changes, assembles equipment and supplies, assists anesthesia, and monitors the sterile field.

  
  
  
• 
  

  Communication (20%): Interacts with patients, families, physicians, OR team, supervisors, and ancillary departments regarding care and updates.

  
  
  
• 
  

  Staff Development (10%): Participates in educational opportunities, in-services, staff meetings, and other training for professional growth.

  
  
  

Requirements:

• 
  

  Minimum 2+ years OR RN experience – Required

  Proficiency in general, ortho, OB/GYN, endoscopy; eye/endo preferred – Required

  BLS (AHA) – Required
