School Nurse - LPN

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for patient health care, safety and maintenance, reviewing and following nursing care plans, and maintaining timely and accurate medical records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide skilled nursing care under the direct supervision of the clinical supervisor, Registered Nurse.
• Complete tasks including vital signs, Blood sugar finger sticks, IV administration/maintenance, dressing changes, Lab draws, and medication administration via various routes per the 7 Rights to Medication Administration. Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other individuals in the client's care plan
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient's conditions by notifying the direct RN/Supervisor. Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing care
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity Engage in research activities related to nursing
• Perform other duties as assigned
