Registered Nurse – Pulmonary/Oncology Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Direct Hire | Full-Time | Night Shift

 

A collaborative healthcare organization in Nebraska is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Pulmonary/Oncology Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This position offers hands-on experience with complex patient populations, strong team support, and opportunities for both new graduates and experienced nurses to grow clinically in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus and tuition reimbursement are included.

 

Position Overview

  • Permanent, full-time role

  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a progressive care environment
  • Monitor and manage patients with pulmonary, oncology, and surgical conditions
  • Care for patients requiring tracheostomy/ventilator support and cardiac drips
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Document patient care and clinical updates accurately
  • Participate in ongoing education and skill development

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska or compact, or temporary permit)
  • BLS certification (preferred at hire, required within 3 months)
  • ACLS certification (required)
  • Telemetry Cardiac Rhythm Course required
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • BSN or MSN required, or ADN with degree completion within 5 years
  • No experience required; acute care or surgical experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills and commitment to patient care excellence
  • Specialty certifications (NCC, PCCN, GERO-BC) preferred
