SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Blue Grass, IA
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Housby Heavy is looking for a self-driven individual who is detail-oriented and mechanically minded to be responsible for loading, unloading, washing, detailing and organizing all heavy equipment at our Blue Grass, IA location. This position would also assist with identifying and issuing parts and accessories to customers in a timely manner.

EXPECTATIONS:
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Load and unload equipment/trucks/etc.
- Maintain an orderly equipment staging area, lot, and display.
- Take and write down specs for each piece of equipment.
- Transport equipment when needed.
- Check in equipment; make sure each piece is clean and in the appropriate placement on lot.
- Prepare equipment for delivery to customers.
- Air up tires and top off fluids, as needed.
- Answer incoming phone calls and greet customers.
- Discuss uses and features of various parts with customers based on knowledge of equipment.
- Utilize catalogs and computer systems to look up parts.
- Examine returned parts to determine if defective and exchange part or issue credits.
- Be in constant communication with Management.
- Record parts sales by invoicing customers.
- Collect payments by check or cash and follow prescribed processing procedures.
- Assist with custodial needs of equipment and/or office space as needed.
- Expected to follow the company's safety rules and policies.
- Maintain a professional image at all times.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Preferably 1-2 years of previous experience working with heavy duty construction equipment.
- Previous parts experience in a heavy-duty industry highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Alpha/numeric keyboarding.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical, vibrations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Works indoors and out. Exposed to outside weather.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Class A or B CDL is highly preferred but not required. Company willing to help obtain.
