Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Phlebotomist to perform blood draws and diagnostic collections in Milan, MO and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy of diagnostic testing and maintaining a positive experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
Properly label, handle, and store specimens to ensure sample integrity.
Verify patient information and maintain accurate records in compliance with laboratory protocols.
Adhere to safety and infection control standards, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
Provide clear instructions to patients and ensure their comfort during the collection process.
Assist with inventory management and maintenance of phlebotomy supplies.
Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow and timely processing of specimens.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
Current Phlebotomy Certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA, or AMT) preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical or laboratory setting preferred.
Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques.
Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel to other sites is required).
