Job Description
We are a boutique law firm that specializes in lemon law and personal injury matters. We are not a "mill" and litigate a relatively small numbers of cases. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. For this position, we strongly prefer attorneys who have at least some prior litigation experience doing discovery, taking depositions, and/or appearing in Court. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who seek to build a career within our firm, and help our firm grow. We are not seeking "job hoppers" or those seeking a job solely to gain some experience on their resume.
We will teach you the skills of becoming an effective litigator, as you will work 1+1 with our managing attorney. This job is great for someone who prefers to work a smaller firm where he/she can grow with, learn, and make a difference. We are looking for hard-workers and detail-oriented individuals. In working with our firm, you will not be "paper-pushing." You will be appearing in Court, taking depositions, communicating with clients and opposing counsels, etc. You need to be a go-getter and know how to work independently. Prior experience in personal injury or lemon law is highly preferable. This job is an in-office position and only available for attorneys already licensed to practice in law in California. You must be local to Woodland Hills, or the San Fernando Valley.
Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, oppositions, etc.
- Take an defend depositions;
- Appear at hearings;
- Assist in negotiating settlements and agreements for clients in various legal matters.
- Conduct thorough legal research
- Communicate with clients
- Maintain organized case files and manage administrative tasks related to ongoing cases.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and participate in client meetings to discuss strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or cases.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and a valid license to practice law.
- Knowledge of personal injury and lemon law is a plus.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
- Prior experience in a law firm or relevant legal setting is preferred but not required.
Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually + Year-end bonus
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Full-time) In Office
Benefits: Vacation days, sick days, disability insurance, and 5 paid holidays. We do not offer health insurance at this time but expect to do so in the near future.
