Accounting Assistant - Severna Park, MD

About the Company and Accounting Assistant Opportunity:

• CFS is partnering with a client, a healthcare organization in Severna Park, MD to hire an Accounting Assistant on a contractual basis
• Position is fully on site in Severna Park, MD
• Company offers free parking to employees
• Flexible start time after training, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
• Reports to the Director of Finance
• Salary: $45,000-$55,000

Job Duties for the Accounting Assistant:

• Update contracts
• Monthly ACH collections
• Input and record payments, charges, and credits to proper accounts
• Ensure that all AP entries and invoices are accurately entered and exported
• Perform weekly check runs
• Work with vendors to resolve accounts payable issues
• Assist with preparation and distribution of monthly bills and invoices
• Prepare daily bank deposits
• Complete monthly sales and use tax reporting
• Provide admin support to multiple departments

Qualifications for the Accounting Assistant:

• 2+ years related administrative and accounting experience required
• Healthcare industry experience preferred but not required
• Experience using EMR systems a plus
• Basic Excel skills
• Ability to do more advanced functions in Excel a plus, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, good sense of humor, team player
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive pre-employment criminal background screening
