Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. This is a hands-on role supporting operational and financial activities in a manufacturing environment, including aspects of government contract accounting. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with the site Business Manager.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and post month-end journal entries and complete account reconciliations

Complete ASC 606 checklists and ensure accurate revenue and COGS recognition

Prepare detailed variance analysis to budget, prior quarter, and prior year
-
Generate weekly reports on Sales & Margin, Working Capital, Unbilled Revenue, and Deferred Revenue

Support the preparation of the annual budget and monthly rolling forecasts

Maintain all aspects of the project accounting module

Assist in developing expertise in Government Accounting by working alongside consultants

Prepare monthly milestone and cost-plus invoices for government contracts

Support quarterly forecasting and the annual calculation of government indirect rates

Review engineering sales proposals, contract requirements, and cost templates

Coordinate regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory; maintain inventory accuracy

Complete tax packages, labor surveys, and insurance documentation

Interface with internal and external advisors and auditors for compliance, including SOX
-
Partner with site leadership to support operational decision-making and promote growth

Provide SOX-related deliverables, including reconciliations, testing, and remediation
-
Collaborate with corporate teams to support AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, and Order Management

Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Minimum 5 years of experience in a publicly traded company

Strong understanding of government accounting and contract compliance (preferred)

Experience with over-time revenue recognition (ASC 606 strongly preferred)

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Strong understanding of project costing, financial forecasting, and process costing

Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Strong interpersonal skills and responsiveness

Clear and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders

Experience with SOX compliance and reporting

Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and financial reporting tools (e.g., HFM)

Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
