We’re currently looking for a Part Time Nanny in Bellingham, WA 98229

A lovely family in Bellingham, 98229, near the Geneva neighborhood, is seeking a long-term part-time nanny for their 3-year-old daughter to start in October. Care is needed on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A great candidate will be engaging, flexible, and reliable. Mom and Dad WFH and will be around to check in and say hello. There is a large dog in the home; however, no pet care is needed. The dog is friendly, but will take time to warm up to new people. An ideal candidate would be open to participating in a potential nanny share with a nearby neighbor for a few hours each month in the near future.

Start date: October 8
Schedule: 18-20 hours a week; Wednesdays and Fridays: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
End date/Length of Position: Long-term

Responsibilities

Engaging with child in developmentally appropriate activities to support milestones
Tidying up after child and maintaining clean play areas
Picking up child from preschool (on applicable days)
Preparing and serving snacks
Planning and facilitating afternoon activities (e.g., walks, park visits, children's museum, arts & crafts, playtime). Family will reimburse for any costs
Supervising naps as needed (nap schedule varies)
Supporting potty training (regular reminders, assisting with potty use, helping with clothing changes if accidents occur)
Light housekeeping related to childcare (cleaning up after self, loading dishes used by child into dishwasher)
Letting the family dog in/out as needed (dog may bark to signal this)
If bilingual, incorporating a second language into the child's daily routine and activities.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of 2 years of paid, professional toddler care experience as a babysitter, nanny, or in a daycare setting
Must be UTD on infant CPR or willing to renew prior to start
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Must be comfortable with large dogs
Must be fully vaccinated, including COVID-19 (not required, but preferred)

Compensation + Benefits

This position pays $20-25 per hour depending on experience

6 paid personal days per year
Paid Federal Holidays, if they fall on their scheduled work day
