Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in providing quality patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Collect appropriate data and perform testing to prepare patient for physician visit.
• Maintain patient flow through the clinic.
• Pull patient voicemails and process messages to the nurses as appropriate.
• Complete patient refills as requested by both patient and pharmacy, ensuring appropriate labs are ordered as needed and protocol is followed.
• Assist nurses with patient messages as necessary.
• Assist nurses with reviewing physician blue book as necessary.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification
• AAMA-CMA; AMT-RMA; NCCT-NCMA, or NHA-CCMA.

Qualifications:

• Medical office experience preferred.
