We are hiring: Maintenance Personnel - Temporary

Starting Wage

• Salary: The starting salary for this position is $20.00-$23.00/hour, depending on candidate’s experience and education.  

Job Type

• Full-Time, Non-Exempt
• Temporary assignment for 3 months – potential to move into permanent assignment, to be determined.

Schedule

• Standard Hours: Days, Monday-Friday

Training

• Orientation: Alternatives Inc. provide thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.

To be a successful Maintenance Personnel, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass federal drug test and background test.
• Valid driver’s license
• 3 years of experience working in maintenance, construction, or a similar industry with handyman duties.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. without physical restriction and 25 lbs. repetitively. 

What Will You Do in This Position?

Main job duties needed for Temporary Maintenance Personnel include:

• Patching and Painting Drywall.
• Un-clogging sinks and Toilets.
• Moving furniture i.e.. Office furniture.
• Basic lawncare.
• Snow removal.
• Overseeing Inmate workers on Daily basis.
• Buying materials for daily use.

About the Team

The Maintenance Personnel directly reports to the Maintenance Manager of Alternatives. Together the effectively work together to provide maintenance services to all four buildings of Alternatives, Inc. while overseeing Inmate Workers and utilizing their support with daily tasks and projects.
