The Wyoming STARBASE Academy has two open Teacher Aide positions. These positions are responsible for assisting classroom instructors with daily lesson preparation and delivery. In the event the full-time instructor is out, the positions are required to also step in as an instructor of the approved STARBASE curriculum.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
- Assists Certified Teachers with classroom supervision and instruction. This position may have to be filled in for the teacher if the teacher is absent or has to work with an individual student.
- Provides support and reinforcement for teachers and lessons, helps with lesson preparation, including collecting materials and setting up. Giving extra help to students who need special accommodations or who are struggling.
- Assists in the creation, planning, and implementation of the STARBASE curriculum.
- Adheres to state, facility, and federal guidelines related to institutional education programs.
- Assist the Outreach Coordinator with after after-school 2.0 program as a mentor.

KNOWLEDGE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of teaching, training, research, making presentations, testing, and other instructional methods.
- Knowledge of science, mathematics, and technology. Innovative and creative, self-driven.
- Ability to see where improvements may be needed and address input with the STARBASE Director, to help improve the STARBASE program.
- Ability to exercise self-motivation and to work effectively both independently and cooperatively under minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach. Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as a team member and with children. Knowledge of 3D printing and creation of projects using a 3D printer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Education)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction)
