GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have experience and knowledge of students with Downs Syndrome, Autism, Asperger’s, and behavioral issues
Must be able to work collaboratively with General Education teachers, Special Education teachers and Special Service providers
Flexibility in being able to change assignments daily and work with students with a wide variety of disabilities
Excellent communication skills with all students, other staff, and parents
Must be able to help Special Education students with all academic areas
May include afternoon bus loop duty in all-weather as part of daily assignment

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Must be highly qualified as required by CDE, including at least a high school diploma or its equivalency and 2 years of college
Shall have the ability for sitting, light lifting, stooping, all body movements as related to the job description
Must be able to drive District vehicles for student transportation as needed
Certified, or willingness to be certified, in CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention), First Aid, and CPR
