    Behavior Interventionist Paraprofessional - ADSIS
    Windom Elementary School
    7.5 Hours/Day
     
    POSITION SUMMARY:
    • Proactively address the behavioral needs of students by supporting behavior plans and re-teaching expectations. Including: check-in in- check-out charts with reinforcements, providing sensory breaks, and meeting social/emotional needs of students by building relationships.
    • Support minor office referrals, including apology notes, supervising cleanup of mess, etc
    • Support PBIS Building-Wide
    • Respond to major and minor episodes of disruptive behavior being reported through CrisisGo
    • Proactively respond to student’s emotional needs in effort to prevent a meltdown.
    • Communicate with Counselor and EBD teacher to understand strategies and behavior plans in place for each student struggling behaviorally.   
    • Stay calm in times of distress, have a solid understanding of mental health issues and CPI procedures, including de-escalation, and be willing to follow these procedures.
    • Keep accurate records as directed by the special education teachers
    • Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
    SALARY RANGE:
    • Union contract hourly range based on education, experience, and qualifications: $17.01 - $21.01
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Two-year or four year degree preferred.
    • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job-related field
    LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND REGISTRATIONS: (Preferred but not required)
    • Para Highly Qualified status according to current statute and union contract
    • Crisis prevention intervention (CPI) training
