    *Hired applicants must be able to pass both the DCI criminal history background check and the prework physical requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS:                         
    1. High school diploma or equivalent
    2. Iowa BOEE Paraeducator certificate preferred.
    3. Ability to relate effectively to children with special needs.
    4. Evidence of the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.
    5. Must maintain a loving, caring, helpful relationship with children.
    6. Must have initiative and the insight to anticipate problem situations and/or children in need of assistance.
    7. Must be willing to attend training to assist with specific student’s needs.
    8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
    9. Ability to follow policies and practices.
