Roving Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

The Roving Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive maintenance services across multiple apartment properties within our portfolio. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to travel between locations as needed to perform repairs, conduct preventive maintenance, and respond to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete work orders across multiple properties in a timely manner
• Perform emergency maintenance and repairs outside of regular business hours on rotation
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on building systems
• Diagnose and repair issues related to: 
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Appliances
  • Basic carpentry
  • Interior/exterior building components
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Assist in unit turns and make-ready processes
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
• Communicate effectively with property managers, residents, and team members
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in multi-family properties
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• EPA certification for HVAC work
• Experience with property management software
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Basic computer skills for work order management
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training in building maintenance
• Universal HVAC certification
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
• Electrical or plumbing certifications

Physical Requirements

• Stand/walk for extended periods
• Climb ladders and work at heights
• Bend, kneel, and reach in confined spaces
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Lift and move heavy equipment and supplies

Work Schedule

• Full-time position (40 hours per week)
• On-call rotation for emergency maintenance
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed
