Position Purpose

Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with established policies and procedures.

SALARY
  • Starting wage is $19.00 per hour, no experience. Higher wage Depends on Experience (DOE)

SUMMARY
Prepares and serves meals according to the needs of residents with all levels of dietary needs, monitors
methods of food handling, preparation, meal service and equipment cleaning.


ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS
• Cook and serve two meals during shift
• Create therapeutic meals for residents with specific needs
• Prep for meals up to two days in advance
• Update diet card system daily
• Meet with new residents to identify and plan for food preferences/sensitivities
• Keep workstation clean, sanitary, and uncluttered through shift
• Complete pre-service trainings, monthly ongoing education and in-services on time and attend
scheduled facility/campus meetings
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and a positive emphasis, as well as a
calm environment throughout the facility
• Maintain a good working rapport with co-workers as well as employees throughout the company
• Greeting patient/resident visitors and staff courteously
• Respect dignity and confidentiality standards
• Promote resident rights as related to nutrition and choice
• Remain engaged in work activities throughout the duration of shift

• Other duties as assigned


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to properly carry a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted without difficulty
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; as well as reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry,
pull/push and manipulate various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment


WORKING CONDITIONS
● Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
● Job tasks may be performed in close physical proximity to other people
● Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens, and other bodily fluids
● Possible exposure to profanity and/or offensive behavior
● Possible exposure to verbal or physical aggression
● Includes exposure to disease or infections
