What you will do:

Ferroglobe has an immediate opening for a dedicated Plant Laborer to join our mining operations team. This role is crucial for the daily operations of our mine, providing hands-on support in various tasks related to the processing and handling of materials extracted from the mine. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking individual who values safety, teamwork, and is committed to contributing to the efficient operation of our mining facilities.

• Material Handling: Safely operate and manage the equipment used for transporting, processing, and storing ore and other materials.
• Equipment Operation: Utilize a variety of heavy machinery and equipment such as loaders, shovels, trucks, conveyors, and crushers following all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
• Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance checks and cleaning of machinery and work areas to ensure operational efficiency and safety standards are met.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Participate in safety training sessions and drills.
• Inspection and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs. Report any issues to supervisors promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks. Communicate effectively to report progress or concerns.

What we seek: 

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus.

• Previous experience in a labor-intensive role, preferably in a mining or construction environment.
• Ability to operate or willingness to learn how to operate heavy machinery and equipment.
• Strong commitment to safety and understanding of workplace safety regulations.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform labor-intensive tasks in various weather conditions and environments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Working Environment: 

• Performs jobs under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.)
• Ability to lift 50lbs, Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder. Overhead, Carry 20 feet
• Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
