Monmouth University’s Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing seeks Adjuncts for the Nursing Lab. The Nursing Lab promotes student learning about specific clinical tasks through visual and kinesthetic modalities. Instructors with an MSN not only teach the task but also the rationale behind the task and emphasize safety points. Instructors with a BSN reinforce previous learning.
- Personal Hygiene and patient mobility
- Medication Administration- Parental and Non-Parental Medications
- IV access and medication administration
- Catheter skills- Foley Insertion and Removal, Straight Catheter Insertion, and external catheter care
- Airway management including Tracheostomy Care and suctioning
- Enteral feedings and Medication Administration
- Diabetes management and Administering Insulin
- Infection control including Handwashing and Personal Protective Equipment
- Surgical asepsis, Wound Car,e and Drain Maintenance
- Vital Signs
- Assessment Skills (Adult and pediatric)
- Elimination Skills- enemas and ostomies
- Nasogastric tube insertion and removal
- Blood Administration
- Closed-Chest Drainage
- Specimen collections
This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with institutional, school, departmental, and course policies.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with nursing faculty, staff, and students.
- Provide instruction and supervision (direct and indirect) to undergraduate baccalaureate nursing students to provide high-quality, evidence-based care in a healthcare or other setting.
- Work collaboratively with the Lab Director and lead course faculty to meet course and student learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student clinical performance and provide feedback to students and course faculty based on course learning outcomes and clinical objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of Nursing.
- Current New Jersey State License in Nursing
- Must possess coaching and team-building skills to foster supportive working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and community stakeholders.
- Must be able to work independently and problem-solve.
- Effective interpersonal relationships and the ability to promote student and program success in a team environment.
- Experience with technology and/or computer hardware or software and the ability to learn new technology and software programs quickly.
- Requires some flexibility regarding scheduled hours, which may include some weekends and evenings.
- Physical ability to lift, move, maintain, and set up computer, audio-visual, and simulation lab equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical teaching experience.
- Higher education/college-level teaching experience in Nursing.
