As a Direct Service Professional (DSP) focused on group outings and community integration, you’ll support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in exploring, engaging, and thriving in real-world environments.
From group volunteer projects and recreational outings to community-based employment and social activities, you’ll help create experiences that foster independence, skill-building, and meaningful connections.
To be considered for this role, you must complete the Culture Index Survey (). This is not a test - there are no right or wrong answers. It helps us build well-balanced teams and match people with roles where they can thrive.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and support group outings such as volunteer work, recreational activities, shopping trips, and social events
- Provide transportation and supervision to ensure safe and positive community engagement
- Teach and model appropriate social skills and community behavior in real-world settings
- Encourage participation, independence, and self-determination during group activities

- Provide crisis prevention and intervention support as needed (NVCI training provided)
- Maintain a positive, fun, and supportive environment where all participants feel included
- Complete daily notes, behavior tracking, and documentation within 24 hours
- Advocate for individuals in public settings and help foster acceptance and inclusion in the broader community
- Support individuals in alignment with their individualized service plans and behavior protocols
Who You Are:
You’re energetic, reliable, and enjoy being out and about. You thrive in group settings, love planning fun and purposeful outings, and know how to keep things organized while creating space for connection. You’re flexible, patient, and ready to handle both the fun moments and the unexpected challenges that can arise during community activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 1–2 years of professional or volunteer experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Must be 18 years or older
- Active driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Able to meet the physical demands of supervising and assisting individuals during outings
- Must complete and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, NVCI, and other required trainings
