The NYEIS Project is nearly complete in the initial implementation of a new web-client-based application to address the Early Intervention Program’s (EIP’s) functions of child referral and intake, case management, developmental evaluations, service planning, service delivery, service providers’ claiming, service provider’s payment, 3rd party insurance claiming (commercial and Medicaid), state vouchering, provider application and approval, reporting, auditing, and compliance with Federal and State requirements. NYEIS began the statewide rollout in September 2010, launching Albany and Clinton municipalities along with their associated Early Intervention service providers. As of April 2012, NYEIS has been implemented with 60 of 62 municipalities and their associated service providers, including the five boroughs and central office of New York City (NYC).

Day-to-Day Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
1. Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an IBM AIX environment.
2. Designing databases, including identifying requirements, creating the logical design (conceptual model), and physical database design.
3. Creating Oracle databases.
4. Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures.
5. Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases.
6. Starting up and shutting down the database.
7. Managing storage for the database.
8. Managing users and security.
9. Managing database objects such as tables, indexes, and views.
10. Monitoring and tuning database performance.
11. Investigating, gathering diagnostic data for, and reporting to Oracle Support Services any critical database errors.
12. Evaluating and testing new database features.

13. Create and maintain documentation related to all tasks and provide mentoring/knowledge transfer to other staff as necessary.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have at least 84 Months experience, and below should apply

 

1) Experience as an Oracle database administrator installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with RAC in a UNIX-like environment (i.e., AIX).

2) Experience as an Oracle database administrator installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with ASM in a UNIX-like environment (i.e., AIX).

3) Experience as an Oracle database administrator installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with Data Guard in a UNIX-like environment (i.e., AIX).

4) Experience as an Oracle database administrator installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with Grid Control in a UNIX-like environment (i.e., AIX).

5) Experience as an Oracle database administrator installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with GoldenGate for Active-Active Replication in a UNIX-like environment (i.e., AIX).

6) General experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or later on Windows Server 2008 (or Windows 7) or later.

7) Experience shell scripting, including creating cron jobs.

8) Experience programming and querying data in both PL/SQL and T-SQL.

9) Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related field.
