POSITION:               Short Notice Housekeeper II

SALARY:                  $20.00 per hour

REPORTS TO:         Lead Housekeeper

LOCATION:              Convalescent Center; Nespelem, Washington

Basic Functions:  This is a Non-Exempt position.  Short Notice position is an on-call role, and applicants must be prepared to report to work within one hour of receiving notification.   The Housekeeper will perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, local standards and guidelines, and regulations governing the facility, and as directed by the Administrator and/or the Lead Housekeeper to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.  

Qualifications

Education and Training: 

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Requires knowledge of housekeeping practices desired of the applicant.
• Requires knowledge of long term care setting.
• Requires ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.
• Requires ability to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 30 pounds to a minimum height of 2 feet and be able to push, pull, move; and/or carry said weight a minimum of 20 feet.
• Requires the ability to make independent decisions.
• Janitorial experience preferred.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
