$17.00 - $22.10The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSEPerforms activities associated with care and propagation of any animal colony involving one or more species. Provides complete husbandry care of laboratory animals. Ensures all standards and conditions, pertinent to proper health care and maintenance of animals assigned, are met. Assists with tasks such as administering drugs, clipping, and weighing by holding animals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides complete husbandry care of one or more species of laboratory animals.
- Ensures all standards and conditions, pertinent to proper health care and maintenance of animals assigned, are met.
- Assists by holding animals for such tasks as administering drugs, clipping, weighing, etc.
- Observes animals, reports instances of abnormal behavior, vermin infestations, temperature changes, and other conditions affecting the well-being of animals assigned.
- Inventories food and bedding materials.
- Assists in maintaining related records and preparing periodic reports.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent and less than 1 year of relevant experience required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
