Substitute/Guest teachers are paid for either 4 hours or 8 hours/day. The 25/26 rate of pay is $221.02 for a full day or $110.51 for a half-day.
Current requirements for Substitute/Guest Teachers (TSPC teaching license):
- Valid Oregon teaching license (https://www.oregon.gov/tspc/Pages/index.aspx)
- Electronic Application
- Onboarding paperwork
- Annual mandatory trainings
- Criminal background check
- Sexual misconduct reference check with prior educational employers (if any)
Hood River County School District will accept substitute applications through April 30, 2026. Substitutes should not expect to be called to work during recognized school breaks (Winter, Spring, Summer breaks).
