Job Purpose & Position Overview
This position is to help Winnebago public health nursing patients and community members with at home assistance and will be coordinated with the senior citizen’s center director.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska’s core mission, vision, and values.
- Adhere to personnel policies and procedures.
- Responsible for assisting community members designated by senior citizen’s center directors and coordinator with the public health nurses, May include bathing/showering assistance, vitals, or blood sugar checks. May be asked to do other tasks, lifting, and transfer assistance.
- Not a home health care assistant and done a prn basis.
- Must complete all work order assignments in a timely and orderly manner
- Must prepare and document visits with report follow-up to senior citizen’s director and to the public health nurse/director as a coordinated effort.
- Responsible for reporting any requirements and/or conditions that pose a hazard to patients.
- Must always maintain strict confidentiality due to major access to sensitive information.

- Assist with meal deliveries when needed
Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills:
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Experience as a caregiver is preferred
- Nursing assistant certificate
- Must be polite and respectful to all relatives
- Must possess above average time management skills
- Must be sensitive to the requirements of the patients
- Must possess above average customer service skills
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Knowledge of general safety practices is required
- Knowledge of medical equipment or ability to learn
- Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting, bending, and standing for duration of shift
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribe.

Training Requirements:
- Responsible for attending required workshops, trainings, and meetings as directed by the Director of Public Health Nursing Director.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal to heavy work which includes the ability to lift over 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity with cooperatively free range of motion of all extremities including neck, fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, arms, shoulders, waist, legs, hips, knee joints, ankles, and feet is required.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.

- Works with minimal to no supervision
Language Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Must be able to employ professional verbal and written communications skills continually and effectively.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
