The role of this position is to assist in the Safe operation of the manufacturing process at the plant by participating on a cross functional Team that will be responsible for assuring equipment reliability by performing electrical and mechanical inspections and repairs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Operate computerized process control stations which control heavy manufacturing equipment in a minerals processing plant.
- Monitor and maintain quality control system and procedures.
- Monitoring and observing assigned area for abnormal conditions and emergency situations.
- Work and interact with outside contractors, customers, and agencies.
- Complete work orders and preventive maintenance routines.
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment including pneumatics, pumps, motors, belts, conveyors, baghouses, mills, mobile equipment, and a variety of other heavy industrial equipment.
- Perform electrical repairs on equipment including motors, drives, starters, PLC’s, instrumentation, MCC’s and a variety of other heavy industrial equipment.
- Participating in safety reviews and other training activities.
- Maintaining proper and safe process operations of the operating equipment
- Perform maintenance related activities including welding, fabrication, housekeeping and other labor-intensive activities.
- Complete inspections and report and deviations from standards.
- Operate mobile equipment including skid loaders, wheel loaders, fork lifts, lifts and other heavy manufacturing mobile equipment.
- Upholding company values, understanding and implementing all relevant company policies and procedures to ensure all work meets the required standard
- Position may require shift work including 12 hour shifts that may rotate supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS: Reports to the Maintenance Superintendent
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Field of Study Preferred: Industry related field experience preferred.
Preferred Work Experience: 3-5 years in manufacturing operation including electrical and mechanical experience.
Preferred Computer and Software Skills: Knowledge of processing methods and laboratory techniques and equipment operation. Proficiency with MS Office.
Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Problem solving and analytical skills. Welding and fabrication. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, drawings, schematics, diagrams, and instructions.
Physical Requirements:
This position will be in a heavy, industrial environment. Will require lifting to 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders while carrying tools, bending, pulling, overhead work, respirator use, hearing protection use and mechanical and electrical work.

Salary: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour
