Overview:

CHI Oakes Hospital, is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007, replacing a 50-year old building, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization, CommonSpirit Health.

As a Med Surg RN, you'll be a vital part of our mission, providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population. You'll gain broad experience while working directly with patients and their families, making a real difference in their health and well-being.

 

What You'll Do as a Med Surg RN at CHI Oakes Hospital:

  • Provide direct patient care on our medical-surgical unit, encompassing a wide range of diagnoses and conditions.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and utilize advanced nursing skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognize changes, and intervene appropriately.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, discharge planning, and medication adherence.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
  • Champion patient safety and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Dakota (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • PALS or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
