Job Title: Sr Front End Developer
Location: NYC
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description: As a Web Developer you will specialize in developing lightweight, standards-compliant web programs that will be used by millions of people. You will play a key role in building products like Symptom Checker, Answers, and Physician Directory. Responsibilities • Create cross-browser, fully functional web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while strictly adhering to accessibility and W3C web standards • Collaborate with developers, product managers, designers, web publishers, producers and back-end engineers to support site operations and meet project deadlines • Troubleshoot and resolve code issues • Review new code (self and peer) following W3C web standards and strict QA guidelines • Support site operations through creating / updating site code and configuring content via in-house CMS
Qualifications: • 2+ years work experience using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (please provide HTML/CSS/JS code samples) • Proven experience hand-coding HTML using semantic markup, the latest W3C web standards, and CSS layout / positioning
Desired (not required) Skills: • 5+ years front end development • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript • Experience with a JavaScript MVC framework such as Angular, Backbone.js, Spine.js, Ember.js, etc. • Experience with client side templating like Handlebars.js, Mustache.js • Deep experience developing modular, object-oriented JavaScript applications and concepts • Experience working with XSL, XSLT, and XML • Expert working knowledge of WCAG/508 compliance and accessibility • Proven leadership, communication and teamwork skills • Passion for mentoring and maintaining a high level of excellence across the team • Experience with Git, Subversion or other version control • Familiarity with Documentum or another enterprise CMS • Working knowledge of Omniture, Selenium • Unix shell scripting • Experience with Agile development (Scrum, Kanban, etc) • Familiarity with Continuous Integration • Familiarity with unit testing (i.e. mocha, etc)
Education/Certifications: • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
