SUMMARY: The Machine Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform basic preventive maintenance on assigned corrugated packaging machines. This person will ensure the efficient running of the product through the machines with quality and safety standards set as a priority. A successful machine operator is reliable and pays attention to detail and safety standards and sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. They will also read, interpret and comprehend job tickets and diagrams to produce a quality product. The Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately and follows specifications in a timely fashion. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration and professional communications with co-workers. The goal is to ensure that production procedures will be carried out to maximize efficiency and profits in a safe environment. Experience working with corrugated packaging equipment is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate machinery that produces corrugated packaging.
• Set up and run the assigned machine to maximize production.
• Stop or reset machine when malfunctions occur and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Observe and assist team members to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
• Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature, dimension, pressure, and register settings.
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods in a legible manner.
• Learn about and understand the machine’s ink system.
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
• Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
• Ensuring production floor and machine area is clean, accessible, and safe.
• Effectively and professionally communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• Excellent math skills and the ability to read and comprehend ruler and decimal measurements are required.
• Detail orientated with the ability to adjust the equipment as needed is a must.
• Ability to read and write English and be able to interpret job tickets into action items.
• Ask questions when in doubt.  
• Learn and understand SupplyOne’s Food Safety Management System.
• Must be an independent and responsible team player. Must be able to work at a fast pace, uphold designated break times and communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Post offer pre-employment criminal history background check and drug screening is required.

The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, qualifications, experience, responsibilities, and relevant education and training.  In addition to our compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including the following:
