Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and specifications.
- Conduct inspections on products at all stages of the manufacturing process.
- Document and report inspection findings and results in the BMS via Task entries.
- Perform mechanical, dimensional and visual/cosmetic inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements.
- Read and interpret specifications and Engineering prints.
- Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
- Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions. Communicate/interface with:
- Product Managers to ensure product is in compliance with Specifications.
- Purchasing to address/resolve findings on supplied products.
- Area Supervisors on non-conformities that have originated in their area of responsibility.
- Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs.
- Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Experience, Skills & Education:
- Experience Level: minimum of two years in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Must possess basic writing skills
- Understanding and use of basic measuring tools (Calipers, micrometer & angle gage) preferred.
- Competent in use of K&N’s Business Management System (BMS)
- Previous ISO 9001 experience helpful.
- Previous Quality Assurance experience helpful.
- Must be competent in use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Windows software.
Additional Qualities Necessary:
- Must be detail oriented and well organized.
- Must demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple duties, prioritize, follow through on all tasks and projects, and meet pre-determined deadlines with limited supervision
- Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers and in a 1-on-1 or team situation
- Consistently demonstrate a positive company image to K&N customers
