Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual grinding machines to shape, sharpen, or finish metal and non-metal parts.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to understand specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.

• Select, mount, and dress grinding wheels appropriate for each task.

• Measure workpieces using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.

• Adjust machine controls to achieve required dimensions, surface finishes, and quality standards.

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of grinding machines to ensure proper operation.

• Inspect finished products and verify they meet quality and safety standards.

• Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
