Full-Time Mechanical Engineer II Wanted!
Our client is a leading engineering firm in Camden County, NJ, and they're hiring an experienced engineer who can collaborate with others, communicate effectively, and complete top-notch work on a tight deadline. In this mechanical engineering role, you'll be designing, analyzing, and reviewing drawings for HVAC systems in various facilities. DAILY WORK:
You'll have a hybrid schedule but must spend at least 3 days per week in our client's Camden office. The Mechanical Engineer II will coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, architects, and facility owners to design complex HVAC systems for various healthcare, academic, and research facilities. You'll oversee projects, lead less experienced engineers, and support construction administration as needed. Here's a closer look:
- Design energy-efficient HVAC systems to meet each client's unique needs and facility setup
- Use various programs (eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, etc.) to conduct load calculation analysis and energy modeling
- Review drawings for accuracy and compliance
- Implement development programs and training for less experienced engineers
- Perform construction site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide field construction support
- Assist project managers with developing proposals, managing clients, and executing projects on time and within budget
MECHANICAL ENGINEER II QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in mechanical engineering
- Professional engineer (PE) license OR currently working towards licensure
- 5+ years of professional, progressive experience in the US (preferably in the Tri-State area) in designing mechanical or HVAC systems for laboratory or critical care facilities
- Experience using load analysis and energy modeling programs (eQUEST, Trane TRACE, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP, etc.)
- Experience executing and implementing a design project with Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit
- Experience in building information modeling (BIM)
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and national codes, including NFPA and Joint Meeting
- Ability to prepare presentations and explain technical information in simple terms
- Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent in-person English communication skills
- Collaboration skills
- Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred:
- Knowledge about the USGBC LEED rating system and standards
