Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior Millwrights and Maintenance Technicians in performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on industrial equipment.
- Learn to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, and assist in basic troubleshooting.
- Support the repair and replacement of machine components such as bearings, belts, and hoses.
- Gain proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and basic schematics under guidance.
- Participate in general fabrication activities, including learning basic welding and cutting techniques.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for simple data entry and work order completion under supervision.
- Assist with rigging and moving equipment as directed.
- Demonstrate a continuous eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to various maintenance challenges.
Recommended Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; completion of a technical program or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is a strong plus.
- Foundational understanding of mechanical principles and basic hand tool usage.
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills in industrial maintenance, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some prior hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Basic welding experience (e.g., stick, MIG).
- Experience or certification in operating forklifts or other mobile equipment.
- Ability to provide basic personal hand tools.
- Understanding of general shop practices and safety procedures.
