Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior Millwrights and Maintenance Technicians in performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on industrial equipment.
  • Learn to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, and assist in basic troubleshooting.
  • Support the repair and replacement of machine components such as bearings, belts, and hoses.
  • Gain proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and basic schematics under guidance.
  • Participate in general fabrication activities, including learning basic welding and cutting techniques.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for simple data entry and work order completion under supervision.
  • Assist with rigging and moving equipment as directed.
  • Demonstrate a continuous eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to various maintenance challenges.

Recommended Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; completion of a technical program or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is a strong plus.
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical principles and basic hand tool usage.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in industrial maintenance, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some prior hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Basic welding experience (e.g., stick, MIG).
  • Experience or certification in operating forklifts or other mobile equipment.
  • Ability to provide basic personal hand tools.
  • Understanding of general shop practices and safety procedures.
