Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital position requiring active OT licensure, BLS, and NBCOT certification with at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work in an acute care hospital rehabilitation setting
  • Day shifts consist of five 8-hour shifts per week with flexible start times between 7:00 and 8:00 AM
  • Includes a weekend rotation of one day shift per month
  • Patient caseload is typically 7–9 patients per shift
  • No on-call required, but start times may flex to accommodate surgical caseload
  • Uses Epic EMR; prior Epic experience is preferred
  • Daily responsibilities include 6–7 scheduled evaluations or reassessments and responding to new referrals until 1:00 PM
  • Requires close collaboration with other therapy disciplines to manage caseloads
  • Hospital-based edema management training available on-site
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Most contract extensions are offered when there is mutual fit
  • Conversion to a permanent role is common depending on availability
  • No prior travel experience required
  • Return staff must have a one-year separation before eligibility
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • Up-to-date flu and COVID-19 vaccination may be required per facility policy
Requirements
  • Active Occupational Therapist license is required if applicable
  • Current BLS and NBCOT certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant OT experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Solid color scrubs are required; prints are not permitted, with 10 colors approved
