AEG Petroleum, based in Amarillo, TX, is a growing family owned and operated petroleum distributor. We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
Job Summary:
The Field Safety Specialist is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe working environment across petroleum field operations. This role provides support to field personnel, conducts safety inspections, ensures compliance with regulatory and company safety standards, and serves as a resource for training, incident investigation, and continuous safety improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular field safety audits, inspections, and observations to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, TCEQ and other industry specifics.
- Create and provide hands-on coaching and guidance to drivers and field crews on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and emergency response procedures.
- Assist with job safety analysis and risk assessments for field activities, including transportation, maintenance, and production operations.
- Monitor safety performance and ensure alignment with company and regulatory requirements. - Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. - Create, deliver and facilitate safety training programs, safety meetings, and toolbox talks. - Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. - Support the implementation of company HSE programs, policies, and procedures in the field. - Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and real-time incident response as needed. - Act as a liaison between field operations, management, and regulatory agencies regarding safety matters.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of HSE experience in petroleum, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment. - Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations applicable to petroleum operations.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated, driven and adaptable in demonstrating initiative and flexibility to excel in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Power Point) and safety management systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and coach team members.
- Ability to work independently and travel up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in remote environments.
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs. and extended periods of walking, standing or sitting.
Certifications:
- OSHA
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection license is a plus
