Job SummaryAs a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:
- Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises as outlined in their treatment plans, under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Monitor and record therapy services for individuals with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments.
- Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities that align with patient goals and practice requirements.
- Communicate effectively with the physical therapist regarding patient responses and progress.
- Stay informed about targeted physical therapy outcomes and document achievements.
- Adhere to accepted clinical practice guidelines and perform related duties as needed.
Your focus may vary based on facility needs, including post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments.
QualificationsTo thrive in this role, you should have:
- A degree from an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A valid license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment.
- A valid driver's license may be required, depending on the role.
