Our client is seeking a well rounded Accounting Lead to work in collaboration with a CPA firm. If you are a strong bookkeeper who enjoys working with a team and looking for growth, this position is for you!

What the Bookkeeper will do:

• The Bookkeeper will oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department
  • AP, AR, invoicing, collections, and payroll
• Support month-end and year end close processes; coordinate with CPA firm on reconciliations and documentation
• File and oversee multistate sales tax returns; maintain customer tax exemption certificates
• Process daily customer invoicing and apply revenue recognition standards
• Calculate employee commissions and reconcile sales-based reports
• Manage company credit card reconciliations and employee expense reporting
• Lead project-based cost accounting, including project cost review, tracking, and closeouts
• Coordinate 1099 filings
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
• Support audit preparation

What the company needs in an Bookkeeper:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related experience
• Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping responsibilities
• Government contracting experience (+)
• Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time
