Job Description

Job Description
WHO WE ARE: The Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference partners with children, families and communities throughout New York State to inspire hope, develop skills and cultivate healthy relationships for positive futures.

Position Summary: The CFSI team maintains manageable caseloads and works closely with schools, courts, and community partners to provide strength-based guidance and informed decision-making. This is your chance to make a difference in the lives of those in your community truly. We are looking for a passionate and positive person with an understanding of children and family services. If you are driven by a genuine commitment to community engagement and empowerment, and if you bring your heart and dedication to everything you do, this role is for you. If you’re ready to leave a lasting impact, we want you on our team. Youth Coaches are integral members of the CFSI Team, working directly with at-risk youth in Ulster County to reduce the risk of out-of-home placements. They collaborate with youth and families in their homes and communities to identify strengths, set achievable goals, and foster connections to natural support and supportive networks. Through mentorship, they help youth build independent life skills and strengthen attachments to school, family, and community while linking them to mental health services, substance abuse treatment, employment opportunities, and pro-social activities. Familiar with the community they serve, Youth Coaches understand how Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) impact quality-of-life outcomes and risks for the youth they support.

  • Identify natural supports and foster supportive networks to build resilience and connections for youth.
  • Mentor youth in independent life skills and connect them to mental health services, substance abuse treatment, employment/vocational opportunities, and pro-social activities.
  • Leverage community knowledge and an understanding of Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) to address quality-of-life outcomes and risks for the youth.
