Lead Diesel Mechanic – Eugene, OR
Are you an experienced diesel mechanic looking for a place where your skills are recognized and respected? Do you take pride in solving tough problems and keeping equipment running strong?
Buck’s Sanitary Service, Inc. and affiliate Companies are seeking a Lead Mechanic to join our Eugene team. This is a full-time, year-round role in a largely indoor heated shop with a company that values your expertise and the hard work you put into your craft.
What You’ll Do
Lead maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet (diesel trucks, heavy equipment, light-duty vehicles, and trailers).
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Partner with operations staff to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
Mentor junior mechanics and shop staff.
Serve as the go-to expert for critical repairs.
What We’re Looking For
5–10 years of hands-on mechanic experience, with strong diesel repair expertise.
Proven background in heavy equipment and/or diesel truck repair.
Solid leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Pride in delivering safe, high-quality workmanship.
Preferred certifications: ASE Medium/Heavy Truck, OEM diagnostic training (Cummins, CAT, etc.), DOT Inspector certification, or equivalent experience.
CDL Class B or A strongly preferred.
