Lead Diesel Mechanic – Eugene, OR

Buck’s Sanitary Service, Inc. and affiliate Companies are seeking a Lead Mechanic to join our Eugene team. This is a full-time, year-round role in a largely indoor heated shop with a company that values your expertise and the hard work you put into your craft.

What You’ll Do

• Lead maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet (diesel trucks, heavy equipment, light-duty vehicles, and trailers).

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

• Partner with operations staff to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.

• Mentor junior mechanics and shop staff.

• Serve as the go-to expert for critical repairs.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–10 years of hands-on mechanic experience, with strong diesel repair expertise.

• Proven background in heavy equipment and/or diesel truck repair.

• Solid leadership and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

• Pride in delivering safe, high-quality workmanship.

• Preferred certifications: ASE Medium/Heavy Truck, OEM diagnostic training (Cummins, CAT, etc.), DOT Inspector certification, or equivalent experience.

• CDL Class B or A strongly preferred.
