Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

GLT Packaging Corporation, a leading corrugated sheet plant in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its team. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on corrugated machinery and support equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Schedule and perform required maintenance per established PMs.
• Ensure compliance with all plant safety standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with production and management to improve equipment performance and efficiency.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (corrugated/packaging background preferred).
• Proficiency with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• PLC experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Job Type

Full-time role with opportunities for overtime.

Rate

Pay range: $24.00 - $36.00

• Competitive base hourly pay based on experience.
• Shift premium: +$1.00/HR for 2nd shift, +$1.50/HR for 3rd shift.
