Urgently Hiring an Experienced Financial Controller
Based in Northern California and born from the merger of 2 longstanding lenders tracing back 100+ years, we are a high growth member-owned financial cooperative with over $2B AUM tailored to support Californias rural economy! We have a robust portfolio of loans and services and diverse client base across multiple counties.
At this time, we are looking to hire a Financial Controller that can work on-site in Chico.
What you'll do:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Controller plays a key role in safeguarding the organization's financial health-both in daily operations and long-term strategy. This position oversees asset-liability oversight and loan pricing strategies, leads financial planning across multiple time horizons, and ensures the integrity of financial records and reporting. Responsibilities also include managing the budgeting cycle, developing internal control frameworks, coordinating audit activities, and directing all core accounting functions. The role provides critical financial insights and analysis to support informed, data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

Looking for candidates with:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience in financial services, banking, or agricultural lending is highly desirable
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with financial software and ERP system
- experience working with larger corporates with large assets
